Several major companies maintain remote-first or highly flexible policies, including Spotify ("Work from Anywhere"), Airbnb, Dropbox ("Virtual First"), Nvidia, Coinbase, Reddit, and Zillow. However, fully remote options have decreased from 21% to 7% of companies between 2023 and 2024 according to industry surveys.
Hybrid creep refers to companies gradually increasing in-office requirements without making formal policy changes. According to Owl Labs research, while only 23% of employers formally changed their policies, the number of workers expected in 4 days per week rose from 32% to 34% in one year. Workers report being asked to come in more often without an official announcement.
